• What is home staging?
  Home Staging is the act of evaluating the first impression of your home and then preparing a house for sale. Staging is not decorating. It is about identifying challenging areas within the home that might deter a purchaser and then making changes to minimize their effect. Home staging is meant to highlight the best features of your home to make it more attractive to prospective buyers.

  Home Staging can help to create a much more appealing first impression and it can have a significant impact on a prospective buyer’s emotional reaction to your home. It only takes a few seconds for a buyer to form an opinion so you want your home to have the best possible opportunity to shine.   How are your staging services different?
  At Life Uncluttered, we don’t just focus on creating spaces that are pleasing to the eye; we strive to create a home that feels warm and inviting, and one that will attract buyers who truly envision living in it. We incorporate Feng Shui into our evaluation and recommendations which helps to generate a greater feeling of warmth and comfort in a house rather than creating a sterile hotel “display” that so many other stagers work towards. If a home feels warm and inviting it will attract buyers who actually want to live there rather than just creating a view that is pleasing to the eye.

   

  Why can’t I stage my own home?
  Well, you can! However, as a Certified Redesign and Staging Specialist, I can look at your home with neutral eyes, as a buyer would, without the emotional attachment that you feel towards your home and its contents. I am trained to analyze a home and determine what changes will have the greatest impact and attract the maximum number of buyers. I can optimize the placement of furniture, lighting, artwork and accessories as well as identify areas within the home that may require repair, alteration or updating while also working within your budget. It really can be a challenge for most homeowners to manage all of this with their other day-to-day responsibilities.

   

  I am in a rush to list my house, how long does home staging take?
  Typically, a walk-through consultation can be scheduled within 24 hours of your call. We will come to your home and provide a comprehensive walk-through assessment of your property. We follow up with a written report detailing and prioritizing all recommendations with 24-48 hours depending on your requirements. If you choose to have us come back to reorganize your belongings and redesign your space, we typically arrange that visit within a few business days of our initial consultation. The length of the job itself is determined by the amount of work you wish done based on our walk-through assessment and your budget. A typical evaluation and home staging can all be done within a week unless additional services are required. We are more than willing to accommodate tight schedules or emergency situations.

   

  Can I afford Home Staging?
  We can customize our home staging packages to suit any budget. We recommend our comprehensive assessment first and if you are on a strict budget, much of the resulting work can be done by you and if you wish, you can have us back for a few finishing touches just before listing. Alternatively, you can leave it all to us and we can work for an hour, a day or a week – your choice.

  How will I know how much your services will cost me?
  We always provide written quotes prior to commencement of any work. We meet with you to determine your needs, goals and concerns and then customize a package to suit you. You will know your costs up-front, before we complete the work. If outside services are required such as painting, we will shop around for you and you will be provided with a separate quote for those services.
